Yes you most certainly can. However, you will need to have one of your parents with you to sign the waiver on your behalf. We will only allow you to ride a bike if it fits. If the bike you wish to ride is too big then it can be dangerous. We’ll try and get you onboard as similar a model as we can if this is the case.
Much like a picture painting a thousand words, testing a bike is the very best way to understand all the jargon surrounding a bike. Climbing on board and really getting a feel for a bike will help you understand if it’s the bike for you, if it feels ‘right’ and whether or not it’s the right bike for the riding you want to do - there’s always an alternative model available that may work better for your needs. Try that too!
You’ll need to bring with you some form of photo ID such as a Driving Licence or Passport, your cycling shoes, pedals and, absolutely essentially, your helmet. This way we can be sure to get you on the bike feeling familiar and safe.
Length of time on the bike will vary but the expected norm will be between a half hour to an hour. Check the Routes and Dates pages for upcoming mountain bike events in your area which will have the info about how the event will be run and how long you’re likely to be riding for. One of the great things about the Demo Tour is that you get to test bikes back to back for a true feel of each bike’s merits and which one you prefer. You can ride as many bikes as you like on the day as long as you have made the time and have the energy!
So, you’ve tested a bike and realised it’s the one for you. That’s great! So where do you go now? Check the mountain bike Routes and Dates pages for the stores associated with the event in your area and get in contact with them. Otherwise take a look at the dealer pages for Avanti and Scott.
The actual bikes being tested will be available to purchase at the end of the Demo Tour at reduced prices. You can secure the bike of your choice (if it hasn’t been secured already) any time but remember it won’t be available until the Demo Tour has concluded. The bike will also continue to be used as a demo bike, all the while being lovingly maintained by our mechanics.
